This is a Catholic girls formative secondary school owned by the religious institute of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart Of Mary, Mother of Christ. In 1959, Archbishop, His Grace Most Rev. Charles Heerey C.S.SP, the founder of the religious institute said "A Juniorate should be etsablished somewhere". It is the only reasonable way to train young aspirants. In respect to his wish, the juniorate was founded after the Nigerian/Biafra civil war.
This Institution is a seed ground for religious vocations and is principally aimed at the holistic formation of young Catholic girls who aspire to be Reverend Sisters or good Catholic women.

This formation focuses on the academic, moral, spiritual, physical, social, psychological and emotional growth and development of the aspirants. It also trains girls to be academically informed future Catholic women and citizens of the society.

Charles Heerey Memorial Juniorate was founded in January 1971 and accredited in 1976 to sit for the West African School Certificate(WASC) presently the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination(WASSCE).

In the year 2000, the school sat for the National Examination Council(NECO) examination. This examination has been taken by the school since then. The school annually achieves excellent results with our graduates in Federal and State Universities within and beyond the country.
The Juniorate has two campuses :

1. The Senior Campus and
2. The Junior Campus

Both Campuses are within Urualla, they are one school with one school policy. The senior campus houses students who are also called aspirants from SS1 - SS3 while the junior campus houses aspirants from JS1- JS3. The school competes in National, State and even International competitions and receives awards.
